Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who became Comaneci's coach later in life found her around the age of six. First competing in the junior national championships of Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. In 1970, she won. She took home three golds at her first competition at a junior Olympic meet in 1972 for communist countries. Between 1973 and 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the entertainment industry during her teenage years. She started her career as a model skater with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show named Ice Capades. The shows featured the ice skating of which was performed to music from the stage.
